  6. Also known as the Eumenides, they were the goddesses of vengeance, the righters of human wron
  7. gs. Some considered them daughters of \b \cf4 \ATXht1 Hades\b0 \cf0 \ATXht0  and \b \cf4 \ATXht11617 Persephone\b0 \cf0 \ATXht0 , but the majority of the sources state that they were born from the drops of blood shed on the Earth when \b \cf4 \ATXht12102 Uranus\b0 \cf0 \ATXht0  was mutilated. Three of them were usually named, Alecto, Megara, and Tisiphone, and they were represented as female winged creatures with serpents winding through their hair and drops of blood trickling from their eyes. The Romans
